Hi, I’m Yasmin — a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO), providing virtual psychotherapy services to adults across Ontario and Nova Scotia. Welcome to Sisu Therapy!

Many of the individuals I work with are managing anxiety, emotional exhaustion, low mood, or a sense of feeling stuck. Some are navigating questions of identity, intergenerational or family dynamics, cultural expectations, or life transitions. Others simply want a space where they can speak openly, reflect, and better understand themselves without judgment.

In therapy, I offer a warm, collaborative, and compassionate space where you don’t have to minimize or explain your experiences. Together, we explore patterns that may be contributing to distress, develop greater emotional awareness, and identify practical strategies to help you cope more effectively, communicate more clearly, and feel more grounded in yourself.

I chose the Finnish word sisu to reflect quiet strength, perseverance, and resilience in the face of adversity. In this practice, resilience is not about pushing through pain or enduring at all costs, but about responding to life’s challenges with awareness, flexibility, and care for your well-being.

My own lived experience — shaped by Finnish and Pakistani heritage and being raised in Canada — informs the way I understand identity, belonging, and the complexity of navigating multiple cultural worlds. You do not need to identify with a particular culture or story to feel welcome here.

Starting therapy can feel intimidating — especially if this is your first time, or if mental health was not openly discussed in your family or community. You don’t need to have everything figured out to begin. I offer a free 15-minute consultation to help you decide whether working together feels like the right fit.
